Six Cougar Athletes Sign to Colleges

Six Clovis High athletes participated in National Signing Day on Wednesday, November 8 officially committing to colleges across the United States.
These stellar athletes include: Danielle Lung, Fresno State softball; Jordyn Martinez, Sonoma State softball; Ashley Kincaid, Azusa Pacific softball; Tori Mueller, University of Massachusetts Lowell softball; McKenna Lewis, UC San Diego track and cross country; and Seth Nevills, Penn State wrestling.
Lewis said choosing UCSD was easy for her.
”It has a good computer science program,” Lewis said. ”I just knew I fit.”
Other factors that influenced her decision included always wanting to go to a UC and the areas good weather.
Lewis’s coach Sean McManus believes her choice of school is a great fit.
”It’s a perfect fit, she wants to be an engineer so it’s a great athletic and academic balance,” McManus said.
For Lewis’ preparation for the next level McManus said, “She’s pretty easy to work with. I coached college so I’m trying to give her the tools for this transition.” Read more...
