Youth Court Offers Inside Look Into Judicial System

Every year, high schools all over Fresno County get together students who wish to participate in Youth Court. With the voice and ability to come together with other students to institute a fair and just verdict, Youth Court is an outlet for teens to get an inside look into the judicial court system.

“It’s definitely an opportunity for [students] to see the law side,” said Clovis High Learning Director Omar Hemaidan. “You have the student that’s been cited, their parent, and the jurors or students who sit next to the judge asking questions. They take notes and they’re given a guiding paper of what they’re able to do.” Read more...
