Military

Military service can provide students with a variety of opportunities after high school, including career training, educational benefits, leadership experience, and pathways to continued education. This page provides Clovis High students and families with information about the ASVAB Career Exploration Program as well as contact information for local military recruiters representing various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Students are encouraged to explore their options, ask questions, and connect with their school counselor as they consider the pathway that best fits their goals and future plans.

  • The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-choice test used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. The Career Exploration Program measures a variety of different skills:  Math Knowledge, General Sciences, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Electronics Information, Numerical Operations, Coding Speed, etc.  It also forecasts aptitudes for career pathways and helps students decide on their fields of concentration.  Drop into the Counseling Center to pick up a copy of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program Overview Guide to learn more about the test and access sample test questions.

  • "This We'll Defend" has been our Army's motto since the Revolutionary War. It reminds us that our purpose is timeless and clear: to fight and win our Nation's wars. When our Army hits the dirt, America means business. Our teammates don't want to fight without us, and our enemies are wise to fear us. We are not a Pacific Army or a Europe Army. We are not Brigade-centric or Division-centric. We are a global force that fights when called upon at the scale required.
