Summer School 2023 at Clovis High

Summer School is assigned for students taking classes for Original Credit OR Make-up Credit (to retake a course in which they earned a grade of D or F). Summer school runs for six weeks (from mid-June to late July) and is divided into two sessions: Session 1 is the first semester and runs for three weeks; Session 2 is the 2nd semester and runs for the last three weeks.

Students will work with their counselor to register for summer school beginning in March while they are putting in course requests for the 2023-24 school year. At that time students will confirm whether the course they are taking is "In Class" (face-to-face, in the classroom) or completed through Independent Study.

If your student is currently earning a D or F in this spring semester, they have been automatically enrolled in summer school. However, if the student should pass the class with a grade of a C or better, please have them contact their counselor to drop them from summer school. Students who earn a D/F grade during 2nd semester MUST see their counselor to add and/or adjust their summer school enrollment.

Summer School schedules will be finalized in Parent Connect and Student Connect by June 1, 2023. When schedules are released, you will need to log into Parent Connect or Student Connect to see the courses that have been assigned. Summer School is notated as “SS”.

This rule does not apply to students that need to retake a social science class for credit recovery (see Credit Recovery Eligibility requirements below).
