Clovis High School students have access to several different Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway programs. CTE empowers students to make meaningful career choices by providing opportunities to explore their interests, develop career skills, and reinforce academics. These programs engage students by making education relevant through a combination of rigorous academics, demanding technical education and real-world experience.

Center for Advanced Research & Technology (CART)

CART provides a 75,000 state-of-the-art research and technology facility where students design and complete projects in collaboration with partners from the local, national, and international business community.
Participation in CART is a privilege for eleventh and twelfth grade students. Each year, Clovis High School has more students attending CART than any other high school in Clovis or Fresno Unified and this is a tradition we hope to continue for many years to come.
Transportation is provided between Clovis High and CART. Students who are selected to enroll, attend half-day classes in one of the 16 laboratories taught by teams of instructors from both education and business. Interested students must apply online and are selected through a lottery process.

Teaching Pathway

The Teaching Pathway program connects learning in the classroom with real-world applications and is an excellent opportunity for any student considering a career in education. The Teacher pathway has articulation agreements with Clovis Community College, Reedley College, and Madera Community College Center allowing students to earn college credits while still in high school. The long term objective is to develop a "grow your own" teacher development program within Clovis Unified to produce an increasing number of high-quality teachers that mirror the culture and diversity of the students we serve.

Students who successfully participate in and complete the Teacher Pathway program will receive the following benefits:
  1. Paid summer internships working with K-8 students following 11th and 12th grade
  2. One week residential college boot camp in summer following 10th or 11th grade
  3. Priority consideration for employment by the district, upon credential completion
  4. College credit earned through dual enrollment.
